LÅMØ 2026 in Karmøy
An unforgettable weekend of team spirit, strong performances and clear proof of how much Stavanger Vannpoloklubb has grown as a swimming club.
CLUB RESULTS
6 trophies for SVK
Six of our swimmers returned home with a trophy – awarded to the top six swimmers in each age group and gender.
Overview
A weekend that showed who we are as a club
We experienced an incredible weekend in Karmøy during our first major LÅMØ with 13 SVK swimmers. What not long ago felt like a small project is now becoming something much bigger. This weekend we arrived as the fourth largest delegation at the meet, and many people noticed how much the club has developed.
It was a weekend filled with both tears and joy. Some disqualifications hurt, while other performances gave the team confidence and motivation. Six of our thirteen swimmers returned home with a trophy – an award given only to the top six swimmers in each age group and gender. More importantly, all thirteen returned with memories, stories and fresh motivation.
At SVK, it is not only about times and rankings. This weekend showed that we are also building an environment where children learn to support one another, share success and stand together when things are difficult.
Team spirit
More than a meet – real team spirit
We chose to stay in a hotel in Haugesund, and that created even more lasting memories. Shared meals, the ferry crossing and the time between sessions gave the swimmers space to get to know each other better and build respect and friendship across age groups.
Every tear was comforted by a teammate. Every medal was celebrated by the entire group. When we saw how swimmers from other clubs were often supported only by parents and coaches during difficult moments, it became even clearer what makes SVK different: our swimmers support one another.
Those are the moments that show our club is about far more than swimming lessons and race times. We are building an environment where safety, belonging and togetherness matter just as much as the results in the pool.
Community
Parents, supporters and community
The parents were not in the background either. Among the supporters as well, it is clear that the club community is becoming stronger. There was plenty of laughter, many good conversations and a shared spirit that made the trip even better for both children and adults.
Perhaps an official knitting and crochet division will soon appear among the SVK supporters – we will keep watching.
Thank you
Thank you for the weekend
Congratulations to all our swimmers. Medals and trophies are wonderful to bring home, but they matter most when they are shared with friends. This weekend, we did not only bring results back from Karmøy – we brought home pride, unity and memories that will last.
